Jill Thompson's Nightmare Before Christmas was a proposed graphic novel adaption that unfortunately couldn't be published by Disney, due to Tim Burton's wishes. She produced 3 sample pages completed around 2003.
Jill Thompson[edit | edit source]
Jill Thompson is a professional comic illustrator who is known for her series such as Scary Godmother and Magic Trixie. She was hired by Dark Horse while someone was trying to get the rights in order to make a Nightmare adaption, attempting to get Burton to green light the idea.
It is still unknown whether Tim Burton has seen her entries or the exact reason it was declined, but it is highly assumed he did not want a comic adaption at the time.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- These sample pages were completed before the publication of The Nightmare Before Christmas Manga.
- A graphic novel adaption was published years later known as The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Story of the Movie in Comics, which Tim Burton approved.
- Tim Burton has also approved a sequel comic story, Zero's Journey, so it is possible he has changed his mind about adaptions of Nightmare.
